Measuring the Energy Consumption of a DC Device
This process applies to any hardware powered by DC
Set up JST connectors to connect to the power source (male connector) and the device to be measured (female connector).
Connect the measurement box between the power source and the device to be measured via USB.
Identify the USB port used.
Configure the testrunner config file with the hardware configuration: Test Runner Launch manual measures - Android
Configure the testrunner job file with the application name, version, and measurement duration.
Start the measurement with the testrunner command.
The data will then be available on the Greenspector Studio interface.
It is possible to add the measurement of data exchanged by the device by following the configuration: Collect of data via network probe
Measuring a Device Powered by AC Current
For a device powered by AC current, the AC module must be used.
For a device powered by AC current, the AC module must be used.
Estimating the Environmental Impact of the Device
In the analysis project within the Greenspector Studio interface, it is possible to configure local environmental impact parameters (Location, network type, etc.).
The current interface does not allow configuring the impact of devices other than smartphones or PCs, but it is possible to perform this calculation using the Greenspector impact API: Greenspector Impact Model
The results are then available in the interface with different levels of detail.
Taking into Account Energy Measurements from Sources Other Than Greenspector
It is possible to take into account energy data from other measuring devices. To do this, the energy data must be sent via the CLI module: CLI by sending a JSON file that complies with the Greenspector specification.
The impact analysis can then be used as with data measured directly by Greenspector.
